The Legendary Alexander McQueen

Alexander McQueen transformed himself from rags to riches by becoming one of the biggest designers since 1990, along with Marc Jacobs.

Since his graduation from London's prestigious school "Central St Martins", he began tailoring for Savile Row suit designers such as "Gieves & Hawkins"- at this time his clients included Prince Charles.

He is particularly famous for his shock-tactic designs...which gained huge popularity with celebrities such as Kate Moss, of whom he created a very close bond with.

During his life, Mcqueen accomplished many achievements, firstly that he was appointed the head designer of Givenchy in his early career and secondly the development of his own brands "Alexander McQueen" and "McQ" which was aimed for a more casual occasion and a younger audience because of its cheaper pricing.

Sadly, Mcqueen committed suicide and was found on 11th February 2010. His death was believed to have been reflective of his mother's death 10 days before.

He will always be remembered for his beautiful works...

Menswear Winter 2009

Trend Alert

Distressed, relaxed denim is a great item for us all when we want to dress casually such as going to the beach or just to the park because that has always been their job. However, this spring/summer 10 season, they have been accomodated into the designer collections and have been teamed with smart shirts, blazers and boots to create a sophisticated cowboy image. Its great to see that these ultra cool jeans have evolved out of the classic, casual "Abercrombie look" because they will be brilliant this season to put with a variety of different pieces- smart and causal.

The Best Dressed...according to GQ

Robert Pattinson soared 38 places in GQ's best dressed ranking since last year's list...

He was described by Dolce and Gabbana as "Extremely elegant and inspiring, the true essence of a contemporary man".

Personally, I think David Beckham (ranked 9) or Tom Ford (ranked 5) should have won or at least listed higher due to their impeccable style which is always smart and stylish and never too eccentric.
